I made my trip to Safeway yesterday and unfortunately they were out of the princess and the frog combo dvd packs so I wasn’t able to use my coupon. My asapargus however came up at .86 cents a pound. My total was 1.21 for two big bundles! I’ll be going back again for that great deal!

I also really made out with the cleaning products I had a couple for $1.50 off Soft Scrub total kitchen making them only .50 cents each! As well as aWindex coupon so it was only $1.00. Also my febreeze spray was free! I had $1.00 coupon loaded on my card from pg savers and 1.00 paper coupon!

And I did my freezer catalina for the first time stocking up and used a lot of coupons!

As I was shopping a lady who worked for Safeway I’m guessing was pushing a shopping cart and handing out a coupon booklet ” Spring Savings, over $15.00 in savings”. It has some good coupons and recipes!

There was a coupon last week $1.00 off Lays new all natural chips, they are on sale at Safeway right now for 1.99, after coupon $1.00.
Also there was another coupon for $1.00 off Ritz new muchables. Those are on sale for $2.50, after coupon $ 1.50.

Is the toilet cleaning gel for $1.99 too?

3 Lee March 21, 2010 at 9:29 am

Winnie: I believe the only 3 for $1.99 is the bathroom cleaner – the toilet cleaner is 3 for $2.99 (didn’t check the toilet cleaning gel)

Nicole: Thank you so much for your report! I appreciate it when you come back and let us know how you did – the PG eSavers are awesome, they sometimes make things that were not on sale free when you combine with paper coupons – thanks for taking note of the Freebrez.

Lee- any tips for organizing coupons? I spent so much time looking through all my coupons, mostly for the cleaning supplies. I had the rest in order already. It would be nice to have a shorter shopping trip!

Thanks!

I went to a Safeway and none of the Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom or Toilet Cleaner had the $2/2 Peelies on them :(

7 Lee March 21, 2010 at 4:17 pm

Sorry to hear that Tina – my Safeway has the peelies only on the bathroom cleaners (don’t see those on other cleaning products). I’d say maybe 1/2 of the bathroom cleaners have the peelies and 1/2 don’t.
Look at today’s Sunday coupon insert Tina – there are quite a few Scrubbing coupons, include .75 for bathroom cleaners!

Hi Lee,

Just wanted to comment on your asparagus purchase. The price you were charged was correct….because the SW Q is for $.50 off 1#. Unfortunately, it isn’t $.50 off each #.
Thank You for all your hard work and sharing your shopping trips…it really helps!

That’s why! Thanks Bonnie – I’ve included in the post. Might try printing a few coupons for .5 off multiple pounds.

I was finally able to load the asparagus coupon to my club card. I also uploaded the -$3/1 Huggies e-coupon from the same site. Does this mean I can match it with a paper coupon to get a total of $6 off of Huggies at Safeway?

11 Tina March 23, 2010 at 7:21 am

So I’m wondering is this now Safeway’s own version of e-coupons? Has anyone else loaded these to their club cards?

12 Lee March 23, 2010 at 8:02 am

Tina, after you click “add” you have to print them out to get the savings – Safeway define their e-coupons like Raley’s, i.e. coupons that you have to print out (click “print” just underneath the red “go” button for the zip code). On their website, there’re only 7 Safeway coupons (with “Safeway” on their coupon. The rest are just normal manufacturer’s coupons.

If you look at the top of the webpage they’ve that “Printable Savings!” in grey wordings.
I should refrain from talking about Safeway’s printable coupons as “e-coupon” in the future… :P

13 tina March 23, 2010 at 9:31 am

No, I actually added them to my club card.

14 tina March 23, 2010 at 9:38 am

The website asked me for my club card number and then it allowed me to upload 3 pages of coupons on my club card and then it allows you to verify what you have uploaded on your card. (essentially e-coupons like cellfire and shortcuts)

I will go to Safeway today and test it out with the Huggies e-coupon I loaded on my card. If $3.00 automatically gets deducted then we’ll know for sure I’m right or wrong.

15 Nicole March 23, 2010 at 10:28 am

I was able to load them to my card also. I tried to do it this weekend but there seemed to be a gliche in the system. It seems like it’s working now. It will be interesting to see if it works. They don’t have as many coupons as the other websites but they will be great for stacking purposes!

You guys are sooo great, Tina and Nicole! That’s new for me! Thanks so much for the report.

Tina it’d be great if you could leave a comment back on the Huggies. :)

New post just for you, Nicole! (this might be the second time I created a post just for you I think :) )
