Safeway $2 Challenge – 6 Pasta Sauce, 6 Pillsbury+

by Lee on February 1, 2010 · 4 comments

They should all cost less than $1 (see note) if not for me grabbing the non-sale Progresso soup by mistake. See the Safeway deal post this week for more info on the coupons. You have Tuesday to do the same deals (the Pillsbury Catalina is valid until 2/21, however). I included the receipt scan.

Not sure about Catalinas? See this Catalina FAQ post

(6) Ragu Pasta Sauce $1.25 each
(6) Pillsbury items (see this Safeway Pillsbury Catalina post for more details on the break down
(1) $1 Progresso Vegetable Classics Soup (note: it said 10 for $10 but even if you buy 1 it’s still $1)
(1) $2.69 (!!) Progresso Soap
(1) Yoplait Yo Plus $2
(1) Spaghetti $1.79 (no coupon)
(1) Bread $1.19 (no coupon)

Coupons used:
$11.5 paper and e-coupons for Pillsbury items
(3) $1 off Ragu Sauce Safeway Coupon book
(5) $.3 off Ragu Sauce manufacturer’s coupon
(1) $.75 off 2 Progresso Soup Safeway Coupon book
(4) $.5 ecoupons for Progresso Soup
(1) $.5 off 2 manufacturer’s coupon for Progresso Soup
(1) Yoplus $1 off coupon (GM 1/3 or available earlier online)

Total paid = $6.46 after tax, get back $4 catalina from Pillsbury for next order. Rounding down it’s $2 :)

I have one of the -.30 Ragu manuf coupons from Red Plum. How do I get more?

My favorite place to buy coupons is http://www.mycouponhunter.com.
The are based in FL but shipping has always been fast. I usually get them within 2 days of ordering. Ofcourse for a 30 cent coupon, it may not be worth it.
Do you have friends/neighbors you could ask?

Tina: You can pick up extra Sunday coupon insert from your local library (if they save them – Davis do), ask friends, neighbors, family to save theirs for you, or order from coupon clipping sources or ebay, Dollar General sell Sunday paper for $1 (Sunday only), or order more than one copy of Sunday papers. I’ve even asked for Sunday coupons at Freecycle mail list :)

Way to go! You did awesome.
I wish we had a safeway around here, the closest one is like 50 miles.
