Yvonne: Thanks for the tip on Babiesrus. On Special K-that's weird though, since the "free" crisp should be programmed into the system and the cashier shouldn't have to do anything..unless the cashier manually override the "Free" item (ouch!). Ok, $1.4/box is still a good price, I just had one of those bars today - they're good.

target won't let me get the special k crisp for free because i used 2 $1 off coupon on the bars... they said i can only get the crisp if i paid full price ($2.39 each) for the bars. so i ended up returning the crisps and paid $2.8 for 2 boxes of the bars.....

Also see the following link, on what to do when you encounter problems with the cashier: it take some effort, but in the end, if you frequent that store, it'll be worth it: http://www.bountynsavings.com/2009/10/target-official-corporate-coupon-policy-2009/

Hi Dianne, sorry to hear about that. They're not supposed to just look at the pictures, but have to look at the wording. If the coupon doesn't exclude trial sizes, you can use it. I suggest trying different Targets AND different cashiers. I used to have difficulty using these $1 coupon for trial sizes at another local Target, and I have to call customer relations and finally received a personal apology from the store manager. I also received support from not one, but three fellow customers on the poor way they treated me when I tried to use the coupons!

Know that you're not alone. Pick your cashier and stores carefully. Though I understand there are some coupons users who cleared out the shelf using multiple of these $1 coupon. I would think the stores could limit the max number (e.g. 5) but certainly they should not prohibit honest coupon users on redeeming these - they're meant to be used, and the manufacturers will reimburse them!

My Target in Hendersonville, Tn. is not coupon friendly. I tried to buy the Johnson Bath Buddies and because it was not on the coupon picture, they would not let me use coupon. They also applied the same policy on a Target GE light coupon. Every time I go to that Target, I ask myself why I bother. Walmart in Gallatin is becoming less coupon friendly also. I would prefer to pay a little more and do business with Publix.
