Target $3 Challenge: Yogurt, Band-Aid, Snacks etc (17 items)

You can combine one manufacturer’s coupon with one Target coupon. See Target Coupon Policy. See all Target’s best deal this week

75% and 50% off Toys clearance are in full force at my Target (Davis) right now. Some cooking toys, many good wooden doll house furniture, lots of Little Tikes people, some cars, card games, Fisher Price doctor pretend play set, etc are 75% off.

(2) Yoplus Yogurt $1.5
--$1/1 YoPlus printable coupon OR
-$1/1 Yoplus GM 1/3
Total = $0.5 each

Free 10-ct Kellogg’s Special K fruit crisps when you buy 2 selected Special K items
Buy (2) Special K Bars $2.39
-$1/2 Kellogg’s Special K Cereal Bars/Fruit Crisps/Bliss Bars RP 1/03
Use with (2) $1/1 Special K Bars, Crackers, Crisps Target printable
Total = $1.78 for 3

Note: The cashier tried to scan the third $1 off Target printable on the free crisps but the register said “cannot use coupon on a free item”.

My experience for all of the below items: Since the item is less than the value of the coupon, the cashier is supposed to adjust the value of the coupon down, but usually (at my Target at least) they just push the coupon through.

(2) Johnson & Johnson First Aid To Go Kit (trial section), $0.97
-$1/1 Johnson & Johnson First Aid RP 1/3, or Safeway $26 Coupon Booklet
Total = FREE

(6) Johnson & Johnson Band Aid (trial section), $0.97
-$1/1 Johnson & Johnson Band Aid RP 1/3, or Safeway $26 Coupon Booklet
Total = FREE

(2) Free Johnson’s Buddies Soap $0.97
-$1/1 Johnson’s Baby Product Redplum (RP) 1/3/10
Total = FREE

(2) Reach Floss $0.97
-$1/1 Reach Dental Floss or Reach Access Flosser RP 1/3/10, RP 10/18/09
Total = FREE

My Target in Hendersonville, Tn. is not coupon friendly. I tried to buy the Johnson Bath Buddies and because it was not on the coupon picture, they would not let me use coupon. They also applied the same policy on a Target GE light coupon. Every time I go to that Target, I ask myself why I bother. Walmart in Gallatin is becoming less coupon friendly also. I would prefer to pay a little more and do business with Publix.

Hi Dianne, sorry to hear about that. They’re not supposed to just look at the pictures, but have to look at the wording. If the coupon doesn’t exclude trial sizes, you can use it. I suggest trying different Targets AND different cashiers. I used to have difficulty using these $1 coupon for trial sizes at another local Target, and I have to call customer relations and finally received a personal apology from the store manager. I also received support from not one, but three fellow customers on the poor way they treated me when I tried to use the coupons!

Know that you’re not alone. Pick your cashier and stores carefully. Though I understand there are some coupons users who cleared out the shelf using multiple of these $1 coupon. I would think the stores could limit the max number (e.g. 5) but certainly they should not prohibit honest coupon users on redeeming these – they’re meant to be used, and the manufacturers will reimburse them!

Also see the following link, on what to do when you encounter problems with the cashier: it take some effort, but in the end, if you frequent that store, it’ll be worth it: http://www.bountynsavings.com/2009/10/target-official-corporate-coupon-policy-2009/

target won’t let me get the special k crisp for free because i used 2 $1 off coupon on the bars… they said i can only get the crisp if i paid full price ($2.39 each) for the bars. so i ended up returning the crisps and paid $2.8 for 2 boxes of the bars…..

Yvonne: Thanks for the tip on Babiesrus. On Special K-that’s weird though, since the “free” crisp should be programmed into the system and the cashier shouldn’t have to do anything..unless the cashier manually override the “Free” item (ouch!). Ok, $1.4/box is still a good price, I just had one of those bars today – they’re good.
