How do I sign up for MaxPerks?
1. Sign up for MaxPerks, write down the number (the actual card should arrive by mail in a couple weeks). 2. Buy your copy paper, make sure to enter your MaxPerks number during check out. 3. The Maxperks money should be credited into your account in 1-2 months.
What types of MaxPerks accounts are available?
There are two MaxPerks accounts: One for teachers and one for businesses. These differences are stipulated under “How to Earn Rewards” when you click on the sign up page. The difference in the account are:
- Teachers: The MaxPerks rewards are distributed quarterly, but you earn $10 bonus for every $75 in qualifying purchases
- Businesses: The MaxPerks rewards are distributed monthly, and you earn $25 bonus for every $500 in qualifying purchases
I actually asked one associate at OfficeMax and they said anyone can sign up for these accounts, and they sign people up for businesses if it’s personal. Though if you’re buying stuff for kids in school, they said, they’d sign up for the teachers account for you.

i don’t quite understand, do we pay $75 for 2 cases and get $75 max perks and we can use that max perks later on on other items?
Yvonne, yes. My question is though, I have $30 in Max Perks already that I need to spend. Anyone know if I can use that as partial payment on 1 case, and still get the Max Perks back……So I’d be “rolling” my Max Perks so to speak!
It does take a while to get the MaxPerks, you’ll get the MaxPerks credit 1-2 months after the eligible purchase – I would think of it like rebates.
Ashley: I’d think when you enter your MaxPerks ID during the checkout process, any available credit from your MaxPerks account should be applied, and you could pay the difference with a credit card?
seems like i can only sign up for maxperks if i’m a teacher or business owner?

I was worried that I had to be operating a ‘business’ or be a teacher, but as I recall….when I went into the store several days ago to fill out the ‘application’, it said to check either the box ‘For Business or Home’ or the box ‘For Teachers’. Hope this helps.
