Lucky day – got a Life-Like brand Santa Fe Diesel model train set at the SPCA thrift for of course a bargain price – $5, include locomotives, box cars, power pack, buildings and more. A similar set without the buildings is $60 new. This set looks barely used.
It’s a leap of faith to get something like this, because everything is “as is”. You won’t know whether it’d work until everything is assembled. But for $5, would you buy it? Not to mention you’re supporting the animals. I do have to remind the kids to wash their hands after handling the well used die-cast vehicles..they’re all “Made in England” but you cannot be too careful with potential lead paints.
My kids had about 2.5 hours of fun with those, under my constant reminder that it’s not made for handling by kids, and they have to be VERY careful!
