EOS_011052 (Small)New to CVS? See my CVS Guide. Note: you can combine one CVS coupon with one manufacturer’s coupon on the same item. Also see “New to Couponing” tab to get started!

I did not made out this week as good as I thought (see experience at the end). Still, after accounting the ECBs I’m getting, I paid around $12 for all the items, and saved over $50.81 according to my receipt. I also used a $5 off $30 CVS coupon.

Kleenex, B1G1 $2.59
-$0.5/3 printable coupon or from Smartsource 10/4
-$1/1 CVS coupon from Flu shot coupon book
My transaction: 6 Kleenex (3 free) = $7.77 -2x$0.5 coupon -3x$1 coupon
Total=$3.77 for 6 packages, or around $0.6 each

Oral-B: $5 ECB when you buy $10 in Pulsar Power or manual toothbrush
-$0.75/1 PG 10/11 and 11/1 insert (Advantage, Pulsar and Cross Action only)
-$1/1 PG insert for kid’s Oral B
My transaction: 3 $4.49 Cross Action, 1 Kid Zooth $2.99 Total=$16.46
-$1/1 zooth and 3x$0.75 coupon
Received $5 ECB
Total=$8.21 or $2 each

Softsoap Ensembles hand soap pump & refill, $4 ECB when you buy both ($11.98)
-Free base when you buy pump Smart source 10/25 (-$3.99)
-$3 off when you buy pump and refill Smart source 10/25 (they’re regional differences, and I have both!)
-$1/1 CVS coupon from Flu shot coupon book
-$2 off Softsoap Ensembles Printable Coupon
Received $4 ECB
Total should be = FREE
(note: they didn’t let me use the $3 off coupon :( )

Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste $2.99, Get $1 ECB (limit 2)
-$1/1 from 10/25 Smart Source insert
-$1/1 CVS coupon from Flu shot coupon book
Receive $1 ECB
Total = FREE

Other worthy deals:
Honey Bunches of Oats B1G1 $4.79
-$2 off Honey Bunches of Oats with Pecans printable
Total = use two coupons, get both for $0.79

Dawn Dish Liquid $0.97
-$0.20/1 from 11/1 PG insert
Total = $0.77

Note : Northern California Ads’ different than the national’s usually with less ECBs deals. See you local ads HERE

My experience and Lesson Learned-the Cross Action is $4.49 (why on earth does a manual toothbrush cost so much I have no idea), and the Advantage is $3.99. I meant to get the Advantage (while still be able to use the $.75 coupon – I don’t think the coupon could be used on the $3.49 ones). But I grab the X-action instead. I tried to return them and switch to the Advantage but the cashiers said they have to get back the coupons, deduct the original price from the coupon, do a return without receipt, etc. etc…I tried to tell them the coupons are applicable to both types of toothbrushes (x-action and Advantage) and they don’t have to bother with the coupons, but they won’t listen. In the end I chose not to go through the hassle to return them.

Lesson #1: Look carefully what you’re grabbing and make sure the coupons apply to the toothbrushes you’re buying. Be prepared to go through a lot of hassle if you made a mistake and have to return them.
Lesson #2: Cashiers don’t like any customers (even savvy ones like us lol) telling them what to do. They don’t even like it when I pointed out the exact coupons I’ve used from the 15 or so from my “stash”.
Lesson #3: Always remember how little you’ve paid compared to those who don’t use coupon, and than you won’t feel bad paying a coupon dollars more :) Always thank your cashier and be courteous no matter what!

Did you do any of the above deals? What’s your experience?

I did the Glade deal this week and had three bogo coupons…I bought two holders and got the refills for free and then I had a coupon for a free refill if you bought 2 refills. I didn’t think it would work but I asked the cashier and he said “lets see” then when it worked he said “sweet, the computer likes you” he even put in the original price for the holders instead of the sale price. Lesson learned: Some people are happy with you when you come across a good deal and some people are jealous and mean when you do. I guess as people who have learned to “beat/use” the system we take the good with the bad :)

Thanks Melissa, for adding to the “lessons learned!” Some trips are better than the others but overall I am very thankful for how little I’ve paid for what I’ve gotten, combining coupons and sales, and looks like you do too. I didn’t need more candles so I didn’t do the Glade deal, but for those interested, the coupons to use are the same as the ones I posted in the Target deals.
