Free books, latest movies, magazines, books on tapes/CD and children’s activities! Have you utilized your local library recently? If you live in the Sacramento and Davis area, there are several excellent library systems you could make use of.
Sacramento Library System: It’s open to all resident of California, and not just Sacramento County resident. The branch in Woodland actually belongs to the Sacramento Library system. The system is one of the largest in California, and there’re more than 2 million books in this system, and numerous movies, books on tapes/CDs titles.
Yolo County Library System: Like the Sac library system, this is also open to all resident of California. The picture shows the temporary, relocated Davis library to a former ice hockey rink. Don’t you think they did a wonderful job with the temporary setup? The new library will include enhanced services, technology and facilities.
UC Davis Library System: If you’re a UC and CSUS student, UC Alumni members, faculty/staff and family members, or a certificated CA public school employee, you may borrow from the UC library system for free. The public needs to pay $100 to borrow from the library (or join the UC Davis Alumni association as UC friends, and pay $50), but anyone is free to enter and use the facilities. See UC Library System borrowing privileges for more details.
I’ll post more about the wonderful programs from these libraries in the next few days, so stay tuned
